What’s your current position at LEA?

What is your background, and what brings you to LEA Pro?

[NR] Before joining LEA Professional, I was a practicing civil attorney in northern Indiana. While I sincerely enjoyed the people I worked with, I found the practice of law too isolated and combative. When the opportunity arose to join LEA as National Sales Manager, I saw this as a chance to get involved in something truly unique and positively collaborative.

Music and the arts have always held a very large space in my heart. I grew up listening to many artists from the 50’s and 60’s. In high school, that love of music turned itself towards show choirs and musicals, as well as several years of piano lessons. College introduced me to the wonderful world of concerts and live music.

From all those experiences, I found myself frequently being interested in sound and audio generally. It was only after those collegiate years that I began to take a significant interest in the science behind sound and audio.

What do you like about audio technology?

NR] Take a moment and think about how much audio is involved in our daily lives; it is astounding! The technology behind audio in consumer goods, residential spaces, theaters, and arenas is only getting better. To be here at LEA — an exceptional example of the improved amplifier side of audio technology — is a rare opportunity and one that I am relishing being a part of.

What are your personal hobbies?

[NR] More than anything, I have a wonderful and wacky family that I love spending time with. We enjoy camping, playing board games, watching shows, going to Notre Dame basketball games, and telling each other bad jokes.

When I get the opportunity, I enjoy playing basketball, golf, softball, and tennis. Lately, I have been working on getting back into the habit of leisure reading and not being too out of shape. I am still working on it.

What makes audio or audio tech so important in your opinion?

[NR] Literally and figuratively, audio is everywhere all the time. Good or bad, audio has an incredible effect on a person’s daily experiences; but when it is good, those experiences can often feel extraordinary.
