Limiter DSP: How To Access & Configure Connect Series Limiters

Audio Limiter DSP: How To Access & Configure Connect Series Limiters

The CONNECTSERIES amplifiers have user-adjustable loudspeaker audio limiters that can be enabled and configured using the Web UI . In this section, there are two types of audio limiters available.

The RMS limiter offers long term thermal protection.  It allows you to set your threshold in voltage as well as attack and release times anywhere between one second and ten seconds. You can also monitor the amount of dB reduction in the speaker limiter, protection limiter, and amplifier channel RMS Voltage output.

The Peak limiter is your fast-acting limiter like you would normally see in a standalone processor. It allows you to set your threshold in voltage as well as attack and release times anywhere from one millisecond up to one full second. It shows the same speaker limiter, protection limiter, and limiter gain reduction values as the RMS section. Additionally, it shows the RMS Power out on each individual amp channel.

To access the limiter section follow these steps:

Now, select the second to last DSP navigation button which looks like a speaker icon to open the “Limiter” section for each channel.

You can now input your Threshold values, Attack Times, and Release Times.

    • These limiter settings should be provided by your loudspeaker manufacturer. You should adhere to those settings whenever possible. If you do not have limiter settings from your loudspeaker manufacturer, you can use our Limiter Calculator to determine your limiter settings.
