10 Things You Should Know Before Going To ISE 2023

Whether you’re going to ISE for the first time or for the tenth time, there is a lot you should know before heading into the world’s largest AV trade show. With 2022 being the first full show since 2020 you can imagine how excited and highly anticipated the show had become. Last year the show recorded 834 exhibitors and 43,691 attendees from over 100 different countries. If you think that is a whopping number, you better buckle up because ISE 2023 is expected to have over 1,000 exhibitors across 48,000 square meters. 😲

If you’ve been to any tradeshow in the past, you probably know the basics like wearing comfortable shoes, bringing a portable phone charger, watch out for tripping hazards such as raised carpet edges, etc. We’re not going to waste your time with the obvious. Instead, we’ve combed the official ISE rules and guidelines for information that might actually come in handy during the chaos of the show. This is the only place you will find all of this information in one convenient spot for quick and easy reference.

Here are 10 things you should know before going to ISE 2023:

If you already have the app from last year’s show, even better. Just make sure to update!

Step 2

To enter the Fira, you need to show your digital entry voucher in the ISE app.

You MUST show the voucher itself. Screenshots will not work.

Step 3

When you enter the Fira for the first time, present your digital entry voucher for scanning at one of the desks inside the South or East Access. You will receive your printed show badge and lanyard

ISE 2023 Official App

The Offical ISE app that you will want to download is your one stop shop for everything the show has to offer and will guide you through the week. Some of the features include:

This digital voucher is your way in and out of the show. You will use the unique code provided to print your badge and grant you access to the show.

The Agenda is the place to be. This is where you will find all of the events that going on during the show. They are separated by day, time, and location of the show to give you the best chance to plan aroud your schedule and hopefully attend some of the many inisghtful events they have to offer.

Not sure who will all be at ISE 2023? No worries, they have you covered. This section might look a little daunting considering it is a list of over 1,000 exhibitors but they make it so simple for the user. By simply typing in the company you are looking for, it spits out their entire contact information and even gives you exact details on how to get to the desired booth.

For attendees/exhibitors who do not have much time during the day, this is a GAME CHANGER.

Within the ‘Speakers’ tab is a list of all individuals who will be presenting/ who you will be expecting to see during events. This feature gives you a early access look at who they are, what they do, and what credibility they have in their field.

Pro Tip: Go through the list and find speakers you would enjoy checking out to plan around your free time!

The days of holding on to 20-30 loose business cards and ultimately losing them is here!

The fast pace culture of trade shows of this magnitude can be awfully intimidating when trying to network with other individuals or even have a conversation that lasts more than a few minutes. That is why the team at ISE has created a feature that makes the process of meeting new people a smooth and easy process.

All you need to do is: Scan the individuals badge or search their name. This will give you their contact information along with the option to direct message them through the shows app!

Within the ‘My ISE Footprint’ Feature this is where it allows you to see all of the activities you have attended and all of the badges/exhibitor booth codes you have scanned. For instance, if you are attending a few different events and cannot remember the times off the top of your head it is crucial to go ahead and add them to your favorites.

This saves you from the hassle of scrolling through all of the events again and finding the desired event.

ISE’s visitors fall into two broad categories: the AV channel and end-users.

We define the AV channel as comprising the product supply chain – the companies involved in the buying and selling of AV products, and the creation of integrated solutions. Most people in these companies would say that they work within the AV industry.

Typical AV channel roles include integrator/installer; distributor/reseller; manufacturer; consultant; live events producer; software developer/programmer; design firm; UX/CX developer.

End-users are typically employed in the vertical sectors served by the pro AV solutions market – such as the ones pictured above. They might operate, maintain or upgrade AV systems – maybe as part of an in-house AV, IT or facilities management team. Alternatively, they may specify or select AV solutions when a specific project is being considered.

Technology Zones

There are seven designated Technology Zones at ISE that group similar categories of manufacturers together to make it easier for attendees to locate and compare different solutions that they might be interested in. The seven zones are:

  • Audio  (Hall 7)
  • Content Production & Distribution (Hall 6)
  • Digital Signage & DooH (Hall 6)
  • Lighting & Staging (Hall 7)
  • Multi-Technology (Halls 3 & 5)
  • Residential & Smart Building (Hall 2)
  • Unified Communications & Education Technology (Hall 2)
