A Conversation with Avik Wadhwa

What’s your current position at LEA?

[AW] I am an Associate Embedded Software Engineer, so I work on amplifier firmware.

What drew you into your specific field of work?

[AW] I studied computer engineering and became fascinated by the connection between hardware and software. I love to see practical hardware-based applications of software.

What do you like about audio technology?

[AW] My goal is to innovate amazing new products that would help people by adding utility, convenience, and joy. Audio technology is a huge consumer space that affects day-to-day life, so it makes me happy to work in a field where my innovations may help many people.

What are your personal hobbies?

[AW] I enjoy learning and playing different sports, currently my favorite is soccer. I also love reading fiction books and manga. In my free time, I also like to cook and create my own recipes.

Do you have any personal “tech projects” that you have worked on in the past or are currently working on?

I am currently working on building speakers out of the Bluetooth audio circuits from my old broken headphones. I like to recycle parts when building things. I am also going to start working on using a few parts from an old MacBook to build a few devices.

What makes audio or audio tech so important in your opinion?

[AW] Audio Tech has been a major part of my life. I built my first speakers with my Geography teacher in 6th grade. I am interested in bringing out the most authentic audio experience to users.
