CCI Solutions has designed and implemented over 1000 projects in church, corporate, government, and public facilities. They supply everything from digital consoles to in-ear monitors and professional sound, video, lighting, and acoustical consulting. Mark Pearson has over 33 years of experience in all facets of production with audio, video and lighting systems and has spent 20 years at CCI Solutions.

[MP] We are CCI Solutions, an AV systems integration company, and we have offices in Kansas City, Los Angeles, and Seattle, where I’m based. We are a nationwide integrator and supplier of professional audio, video, lighting, acoustics, and recording solutions. We are focused on the design-build process because it works best for clients to have one partner from beginning to end. It’s always more efficient and effective. We have an excellent, talented staff who are great at helping clients figure out what they need, design and install a system for them, and then also help with commissioning, training, and many other services after the install.

AND ABOUT YOUR ROLE WITHIN THE company

AV Integrator Spotlight: CCI Solutions

[MP] I’m one of our project leads — aka project managers — and I’m responsible for project systems design, engineering, and management. I work closely with our installation supervisor and field tech team during the installation of the systems. Finally, at the end of the project, I commission the installed system, work with the client staff, and train them on their system.

I’ve been with CCI for about 20 years, and I have managed audio, video, lighting, and acoustical projects for such clients as Saddleback Church, Mariners Church, and Sandals Church. I enjoy helping churches expand in technology and helping equip them with tools that will take their ministry to the next level.

How did you get started in the industry?

[MP] My interest in systems AVL integration started about 35 years ago. While in high school, I helped CCI Solutions install the audio and lighting system at my church and fell in love with the work, team, and company that I now call home.

What is your favorite part of a project?

[MP] My favorite part of the project is the customer relations and system design and engineering. Having the chance to work closely with clients and build lifelong friendships is very meaningful to me.

What is the most challenging part of any project?

[MP] The most challenging part of any project is coordinating the construction schedule with the install schedule for our guys. But a considerable amount of success is building a good relationship with the other trades and working as a team for a common goal of making the client happy.

What is your most frequently used tool during the installation process?

[MP] In today’s network-based world, I’d say our most frequently used tool is a CAT cable crimper.

What’s one thing you always do to prepare for a new installation?

AV Integrator Spotlight: CCI Solutions

[MP] I always make sure the work scope and shop drawings are clear for our field techs to use for the installation. And most importantly, I always make sure all products are ready to deploy to the site when needed.

What are your go-to songs for system testing?

AV Integrator Spotlight: CCI Solutions

[MP] I use a combination of male and female vocal recordings and some speech recordings. But music playback does not replace the importance of testing the system with a full band. The room, band, and audio system all have to work together as one cohesive system to provide an excellent experience for the audience.
