What’s your current position at LEA?
[MW] Embedded Firmware Engineer
What is your background, and what brings you to LEA Pro?
[MW] After finishing my undergraduate degree, I worked for a small business called Haken Audio that produced synthesizers. Then I worked in the defense industry for about 4 years while getting my masters degree. It’s been a longtime goal to work for an audio company again because music has been one of my main hobbies since I was very young.
What excites you most about working in audio technology?
[MW] I like playing music for fun, and I like embedded system development, so having a job that allows me to incorporate both interests is exciting for me. Developing a new product is the most engaging and satisfying part of being an engineer for me.
What are your personal hobbies?
[MW] I rock climb, ski, and surf. I love being outside and camping and backpacking with my friends. I sing and tinker with a lot of different musical instruments, and I enjoy watching movies and anime with my brother.
In your opinion, what makes audio such a powerful or important part of the experience?
[MW] Audio is a fundamental mode of communicating information and emotion. It’s a unifying experience that helps bring people together.
What is LEA’s biggest differentiator?
[MW] I don’t feel like I am just a number. A lot of pride and passion goes into the product line. LEA employs engineers with many years of audio expertise, and that collective experience and attention to detail is reflected in LEA’s products.
