Favorite Music Genre: I enjoy quite an eclectic mix of music. Whether it’s anything from the 80’s and 90’s, industrial/doom metal, electronic and trance. It all just depends on my mood!
Fun Fact: I love traveling to different countries and enjoying their culture, especially the food. My favorite country to visit is France and the least enjoyable country to visit was Afghanistan.
Conversation with Chris Hunding:
What’s your current position at LEA?
[CH] Service Repair Technician
What is your background, and what brings you to LEA Pro?
[CH] I earned an associates degree in Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute in 2003. From there I served in the USAF as an Avionics Technician, retiring with almost 21 years of service. Since retiring from the Air Force, audio has always been a big interest of mine and I am very excited to leverage my skills here at LEA Pro.
What excited you most about working in audio technology?
[CH] As I said, audio has always been an interest of mine. It started when I was a child with a Pioneer receiver that my uncle gave me. I was in awe at the sound it provided and what it could do. From there my excitement has taken me to compete in car audio competitions, building a home theater, and now I get to see how internally that works first hand as a Service Repair Technician.
What are your personal hobbies?
[CH] Much like my taste in music, I have quite an eclectic mix of hobbies and interests. I love to use my smoker, make sourdough bread, collect records, collect old video games, modernize my house, work in the yard with my wife, work on my vehicles, the list goes on and on. The best feeling for an interest of mine is when I get a chance to volunteer with my family to help those who are in need.
In your opinion, what makes audio such a powerful or important part of the experience?
[CH] The easiest answer to this is it’s one of our senses! It is one of those things that can light up your mind, give you chills, improve your mood, help you cope with certain feelings. If you can immerse yourself in a high quality audio experience it can make you feel like you’re actually there.
What is LEA’s biggest differentiator?
[CH] LEA really cares about providing an extremely high quality product and giving their customers the highest degree of service. LEA’s product features are highly innovative and give the customer an impressive degree of control with their networking setup. I see LEA striving to innovate and I’m excited to be a part of that.
