Install Amplifiers To Walls & Tables Walkthrough Guide:
Not every installation calls for giant racks full of gear. Sometimes, all you need is an amp and some speakers to create the experience you are after. But it’s still important to properly install amplifiers to avoid any other potential hazards that could harm the unit – or possibly you.
Here are some safety factors to consider when installing a professional amplifier:
How To Install Amplifiers Safely
-
Keep it dry
This tip isn’t a big shocker, right (pun intended)? Never mount your amplifier near water sources or in any other area with the potential to come into contact with a liquid. That means, keep away from sinks, bottled liquids, water lines, areas that are vulnerable to weather conditions, etc. Also, never place any liquid-filled objects such as water bottles or coffee cups on top of the unit. In addition, be sure to clean the unit with a dry cloth only. -
Keep away from heat sources
Don’t sweat your next install, find a place where your amp can stay cool. Avoid mounting the unit near furnaces, radiators, heat registers, ovens and anything else that produces heat. Prolonged exposure to high heat reduces the lifespan of all electronics and can cause multiple amplifier faults and seriously damage your unit. -
Keep it discreet
We love amps. So, we know that sometimes it’s just cool to have your unit mounted somewhere visible. Just be sure that all wiring and power cords are hidden as much as possible. Try not to run them in areas where they could potentially be walked on, tripped over or pinched. -
Respect the airflow
Throwback to tip number 2 – avoid too much heat. In the spirit of that tip, professional amplifiers are constructed with built-in fans that are meant to cool the internal components of the unit. In order to maintain proper cooling, the amplifier must be installed properly, so as no to obstruct the airflow. You’ll have to refer to your amplifiers owner manual to see your unit’s airflow design. Then install your amp in a location where the ventilation openings are not obstructed. -
When in doubt, pull the manual out
Better safe than sorry. Read your user manual before installing a unit. Not every amplifier is built equal. Each one may have its own subtle nuances that must be addressed when installing your unit. Let the manual be your guide.
Install Amplifiers to Tables and Walls
We’ve purposefully designed our CONNECTSERIES amplifiers with the ability to mount to any flat surface. When you purchase a Connect Series amplifier it comes with specialized rack ears. Out of the box, the rack ears are in standard rack mounting position, facing forward. But by simply unscrewing the three screws on each side, the ears come off and can be rotated any direction and reattached.

Mount to a tabletop:
Rotate the ears 90 degrees forward.

Mount underneath a table
Rotate the ears 90 degrees backward. In addition to rotating the ears, our CONNECTSERIES also features multiple mounting points on the rear brackets. When mounting underneath a tabletop, be sure to use the rear brackets as well to properly secure the unit.

Mount to a wall
Rotate rack ears 90 degrees forward or 90 degrees backward.

Mount in a standard rack
Keep rack ears facing forward. We also include rear rack supports in the box with every new amplifier. Attach these supports to the rear brackets of the amplifier for additional support and to prevent the amplifier from sagging in the rack.

By rotating the rack ears, you can conveniently mount our CONNECTSERIES amps under bars, in closets, in cabinets, or virtually anywhere with a flat surface. Just keep in mind the safety tips mentioned above.
Speaking of the tips above…our CONNECTSERIES flow air from front to back.
Also, where you choose to mount your Connect Series amplifier, be sure to screw it directly into a solid, stable surface. Your typical, store-bought drywall anchors aren’t going to cut it for this job.
