LEA Team Spotlight: Vice President of Engineering & Operations, Jeremy Bules

Jeremy Bules - Vice President of Engineering and Operations for LEA Professional:

What does it take to lead a team of the industry’s top audio amplification engineers? How about over two decades of experience in in engineering design, validation and manufacturing? Or maybe, an innovative mind – always striving to do things better? If that is the case, then it’s no wonder why our own Jeremy Bules is knocking it out of the park as the Vice President of Engineering & Operations for LEA Professional.

What’s your current position at LEA?

[JB] Vice President of Engineering & Operations.  Responsibilities include the day-to-day leadership and direction for the local engineering team as well as the planning and guidance for the remote contract manufacturing team.  As LEA Professional continues to leave its mark on the industry, customer focus must remain as the primary focus.  At the end of the day, LEA wins by providing innovative and quality products that allow our customers to be successful and leave our competitors scrambling to keep pace.

What drew you into your specific field of work?

[JB] As a child I loved to build and tinker striving to learn how things worked and looking for ways that it could be done better.  I was raised on a farm and learned early what hard work was all about and more importantly what hard work and dedication could achieve.  I applied this work ethic to my education.  My electrical engineering degree from Purdue University has opened many doors and led me to Crown Audio where I started as an engineer designing high performance, power amplifiers.  After twenty years in the audio industry, I still get to enjoy the design process to build and tinker with some extremely cool products.

Why is your job important to LEA?

[JB] LEA’s success is built on the foundation of innovation.  Innovation requires engineering resources dedicated and skilled in all facets that continuously strive to make it better, cheaper and with higher quality.  My task is to lead and direct this team.  It is an awesome responsibility that I take great pride in.

What is your background in the industry?

[JB] Obtained an Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University and started my career in audio by joining Crown Audio as a design engineer.  For the better part of two decades I worked as part of an engineering team continuously learning the ins and outs of design, validation and manufacturing.  This team produced world class products that are still used all over the globe.

How has your background prepared you to help LEA be successful?

[JB] My background and experience in product design, in product validation and in product manufacturing position the engineering team for efficient execution which in turn will allow LEA Professional to leapfrog the competition.  Maintaining this competitive advantage will continue LEA’s success in the audio industry.

What do you like about audio technology?

[JB] Creating a truly memorable audio experience starts with equipment capable of the task at hand.  Here at LEA, we understand what it takes to create an audio experience that allows our customers to succeed by giving their customers that truly memorable audio experience.

What is the most exciting thing about joining LEA?

[JB] The most exciting part of LEA is being part of something new.  Everything is from the ground up.  From the infrastructure to the new product architecture, it is all new.  LEA has focused on the customer, what they want, what they need and how they want and need it done.  As a company, we have targeted a differentiated product with unique features.  We listened to our customer’s suggestions and leveraged their direction in our product offerings.

What are your personal hobbies?

[JB] I enjoy whitetail deer hunting and big game hunting out west.  In addition, I have five children that all enjoy sports.  When not coaching softball or basketball I am usually watching one of my children playing them.  I also enjoy taking vacations with my family.

What’s your vision for the future of LEA?

[JB] LEA will become the new standard for the highest quality, most reliable audio products available with features and performance metrics that exceed our customer’s expectations.

What makes audio tech so important.

[JB] Imagine a world without sound.
